Follistatin reconstitution math, explained

The math is short. Concentration = vial size ÷ bacteriostatic water. Draw volume = target amount ÷ concentration. Units = draw volume × 100 (a U-100 syringe reads 100 units per mL). The table below shows common Follistatin setups and the units for a 100 mcg amount at each.

Mixing, color & storage tips

A small vial

A 1 mg vial holds a tenth of what a standard 10 mg peptide vial does. At 1 mg/mL a 100 mcg target is 10 units, and the whole vial is only ten such draws. Enter 1 for the vial size, not 1000.

A glycoprotein, not a short peptide

Follistatin is a folded glycoprotein rather than a short synthetic chain, which makes it more fragile in solution. Handle it gently and do not expect short-peptide robustness.

Mixing without foam

Add the water very slowly against the inside wall and swirl minimally. Foaming is more damaging to a folded protein than to a short peptide.

Storage

Keep the dry powder cold and dark. Refrigerate once reconstituted, protect from light, and plan around a short window. Do not freeze a mixed vial.
